Kim Rand is a certified Clinical Psychologist (MSc equivalent) from Norway, with parallel studies in mathematics, statistics, and informatics. He holds a PhD in health economics and health services research from the University of Oslo, and works part-time as a senior researcher at the health services research unit, Akershus University Hospital, Norway. His primary research interest are valuation methods and statistical methods used in health preference measurement. However, he also publishes in various other disciplines, including clinical psychology, simulation modeling, and language psychology. He has published more than 50 articles in peer-review scientific journals and has acted as a consultant for government, non-profit, and pharmaceutical organisations. He is an active member of the EuroQol Group, where he served on the Scientific Executive Committee 2013-2022, and was the chairman of the Group 2020-2022 when he had to step down due to term limits. Rand has been and is currently involved in several EQ-5D-5L valuation studies.
